Just south of Reisterstown are Owings Mills, Pikesville, and Towson, large metropolitan suburbs of Baltimore. All have a large variety of restaurants and shopping. Owings Mills has a subway station (only 15 min away) that travels into downtown Baltimore. We are only about 20-25 min from Pimlico racetrack in NW Baltimore. We are just 35 miles south of Gettysburg and many Pennsylvania attractions, including historic sites, orchards, parks, antiques, flea markets, and local ice cream. We will provide guests with an extensive list of local resources and favorite food stops.

Shared Spaces: Due to the current situation of the pandemic, Guests will have access to the kitchen and it’s use for moderate cooking, but limited access to the other spaces of the home. I am very responsive so be assured I will be getting back to you quickly! Things to Note : We are a quiet simple family and would respect your privacy. I have a boisterous toddler, and while he is pretty chill most of the time, as with toddlers, they sometimes have a mind of their own??. Your space is private and somewhat detached from the other rooms so you should be totally immune from noise (if any). Just in case, I would be happy to provide ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The private bedroom is close to the kitchen so you may hear slights sounds of cooking, microwave or dishwasher humming, tap running etc but would ensure to perform tasks quietly. Getting Around : A car is recommended as neighborhood is car dependent There are however Uber and Lyft options which are plentiful and available with instant pick up. The property is a 9 minutes drive to the metro station which goes directly to Johns Hopkins, so close to Downtown, Inner Harbor and all the sights it had to offer. The neighborhood : Home is located in a quiet and serene neighborhood, and close to everything!- shopping, dining, entertainment (AMC movie house), and major commuter routes. 9 minutes walk to New Town Village Center which has a lot of stores, Starbucks, Merritt Club, numerous diners and restaurants. There is a playground available for children. There is plentiful parking on site and on the street. Owings Mills is home to around a dozen major shopping centers, tons of eateries and restaurant so quite a lot of things to do.

The apartment (aptly named Whistling Trains) is one-half mile from Sykesville's Main Street - the 2016 Coolest Small Town in America. There are lots of events in town, many walking paths through the community, a train that runs along the Patapsco River and through brick tunnels built in the 1800's. The town has a lot of history and you are less than an hour to Gettysburg, Antietam, Harpers Ferry, Baltimore, Annapolis and Frederick. Washington DC is about 45 miles away. The space There is a Flat screen TV giving access to Cable only TV which includes Netflex and many other channels. There are also some board games, books and puzzles for your enjoyment. The kitchen is intended to meet your cooking and dining needs. There is a Keurig coffee maker with K cups. You will find tea bags, sugar and a variety of sweeteners. The HVAC system was replaced in 2016 and the new system has an air scrubber. There is a Graco Pack N Play and a Fisher Price Space Saver highchair to accommodate our younger guest. Guest access Guests have full use of the apartment, covered porch, and designated off street parking. They may enjoy the front yard as well. Guest must be able to step over a 3-4" threshold to enter the apartment. Also, the doors from the bedrooms to the bathrooms are a bit smaller than standard measuring 22". My home is a single family with 3 bedrooms available and is located in Dickeyville, a historic village that sits directly across the street from the 'Gwynns Falls'. There is plenty of space upstairs and downstairs including a remodeled kitchen and two remodeled full baths. There is a fireplace in the living room and a covered porch off the upstairs bedrooms. The home also includes a separate apartment/suite for total privacy. This space has a living room with fireplace, a full bathroom, and bedroom that sleeps two. The grounds are lovely and peaceful. We are surrounded by a wooded park with animals often showing up in the front or backyard. I live here with my dog Frankie and my cat Goldie. I am almost always on the premises, but guests come and go at their discretion. There is off street parking if needed. The 'village' is filled with homes from the mid 18th century and most are surrounded by beautiful gardens. By car, one can easily reach the Baltimore waterfront in about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. There is a zoo and botanical garden even closer. We are surrounded by the Leakin' Park with biking and hiking trails that can take you in different directions including into downtown Baltimore.
